Update Active Directory Sync Password in Cymetricx

Overview

If your Active Directory (AD) BIND DN account password changes, you need to update it in Cymetricx to keep AD login and sync working.

Steps

  1. Log in to Cymetricx with a Local Account

    • Go to https://<Cymetricx IP or FQDN> and sign in using a local Cymetricx admin account (not AD credentials).

  2. Change the Password in Active Directory

    • Update the password for the BIND DN service account on your AD server.

  3. Access Directory Settings

    • While logged in, open:

      https://<Cymetricx IP or FQDN>/directory-settings

  4. Update in Cymetricx

    • Enter the new password in LDAP Bind Password.

    • Confirm the other fields (Server, Domain DN, LDAP Bind DN) are correct.

  5. Sync and Save

    • Click Sync Now to test the connection.

    • If successful, click Update.

Tips

  • Use a dedicated AD service account with minimal permissions.

  • Rotate the password regularly per your organization’s policy.

  • Ensure the account is not locked or disabled in AD.
